General
What StartExus is and how it works
StartExus is a marketplace for buying and selling online businesses, focused on deals from $5k–$1M. Every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live, and it is free to list, free to sell and free to buy.
Sellers submit a listing with their numbers and proof. We review it, then publish it. Buyers browse, message sellers, sign NDAs where required, share documents in a private deal room and make offers. When both sides agree, you close however you both prefer; for most deals we recommend Escrow.com, so the buyer’s money is held until the transfer is confirmed.
SaaS products, eCommerce and Amazon FBA stores, content and affiliate sites, mobile apps, service businesses, marketplaces and premium domains.
Yes, for both sides. Buyers browse, message and make offers for free. Sellers list and sell for free. There is no listing fee, no success fee and no buyer fee.
For Buyers
Finding, checking and buying a business
Browse by category, price, revenue, traffic and workload, and save searches to get an email when a matching business is listed.
Every listing shows four checks. Seller identity: we confirm who the seller is. Domain ownership: the seller adds a DNS record we look up, or shows admin access. Revenue: we compare the figures with the payment processor or bank records. Traffic: we compare with their analytics. A green check means we confirmed it; anything else is marked seller-reported. Always do your own due diligence too; our review reduces risk but does not replace it.
Yes. You can message the seller, ask questions, request documents and make an offer below the asking price or with different terms, such as part of the price paid later.
A deal room opens where you both track documents, calls and the transfer checklist. We recommend closing through Escrow.com: you pay into escrow; the seller transfers the domain, code, accounts and other assets; you confirm; then escrow pays the seller.
For Sellers
Listing, review, fees and confidentiality
Click “Sell your business” and complete the five short steps. It takes about 15 minutes. You can save a draft and add screenshots from your dashboard.
Twelve months of revenue and profit figures, traffic numbers, a list of what is included in the sale, and proof such as payment processor exports or analytics access. Better proof means faster review and more buyer trust.
Usually one to two business days. If something is missing we email you with exactly what we need.
None. Listing is free and there is no success fee when your business sells. There are no monthly or upfront fees either. If you use escrow, Escrow.com charges its own fee for holding the funds, which buyer and seller agree how to split.
Yes. Choose "List confidentially" or require an NDA. Either way your name, website address and proof documents stay hidden until a buyer accepts the NDA. Keep the title, description and photos free of anything that identifies the business.
Payments & Safety
Escrow, disputes and staying safe
Close however you both agree. For most deals we recommend Escrow.com, a licensed escrow company: the buyer’s money is held until the transfer is complete and the buyer confirms it, so neither side has to trust the other with the money. StartExus never holds money and takes no cut.
Tell us at info@startexus.com. If you closed through Escrow.com, funds sit in escrow until the buyer confirms the transfer, so disputes are handled before any money is released, under Escrow.com’s dispute process.
Never pay a seller directly before the assets have transferred; use escrow for anything you couldn’t afford to lose. Be wary of anyone who pushes you to skip escrow or pay in crypto, and report them to us.
